Piper Hooded Sheepskin Coat

I love this coat. It's gorgeous and well made. I gulped a bit at the price but will be wearing it for years. I live in the country but want to be fashionable. This does both. And does so very well.

For such an expensive coat, it has to be something I can wear every day, including whole feeding the horses. This one fits the bill. It looks like a rancher's coat and can function like one as well. The searing is what makes it sublime. I'm not trying to show off to my neighbors, I just wanted under stated style on the outside and unlimited luxury on the inside. I called up my seamstress and replaced the zipper with a brass, 2-way zipper so I can unzip it a little on the bottom and sit down without rumpling the coat. I unrolled the cuffs and had the sleeves shortened slightly so they fit, and replaced the horn toggles at the cuffs with flat buttons so my wrists are not resting on a large round horn every time I rest my arm on something.

The luxury of this coat is beyond my expectations. The cut, the super of the leather, the fit , all that is perfect and well worth the money. You have my complements and, trust me, I don't give them out to often.

The most amazing thing about this coat (for me) was that it was exactly like the picture. I detest it when I order something online and it turns out to be something I never imagined. Besides that, this checked all the boxes for me. It is so warm! My face is cold, but the rest of me is nice and toasty! And that's the other thing - it isn't like a furnace. You are warm, but you do not have a fever. The size is perfect! I was worried about it; I've been gaining weight due to the holidays (and no discipline). I was a 10, I've moved into a 12, and I wear sweaters with my sweaters, so I got an XL. It's like a custom fit. Perfect! The one thing I wondered about that was not mentioned on the site was what does the inside look like? It is the same brown fur that is around the collar in the picture. And it is super soft and fluffy. I received this coat about four days ago; today is our first big snow storm! Right on time. Now I want a pair of gloves to go with the coat. LOL :)

This is a heavy duty coat. Love that it has a zipper, toggle buttons, and a flap going down the front. That keeps out any chill or wind from entering the coat. Also love that it has a detachable hood. Since it didn't come in an XXS, I had no choice but to order the XS. I am petite in stature (5', 107 lbs). I had planned on wearing it with layers underneath. I don't like coats tight in the torso or arms because you can't layer underneath. Left with a choice of a little room or too tight, I will take a little room any day when it comes to coats. Even thought I am petite, this coat doesn't overwhelm me. Also, the sleeves are a little long for me, but when I wear the coat, I turn up the bottom of the sleeve up and expose the fur, and it actually makes the coat even cuter. I have not worn the coat much, as it has been an unusually warm winter in the northeast. This is probably the most I have spent on a single coat, but it is worth it as it is beautiful coat, will not go out of style, and super warm. I purchased it in the Overland Store in Ketchum, Idaho. It was not available in the store, and on-line it was sold out in the XS. However, Jessica the store manager, was able to special order it for me, and a few weeks later it arrived at my house in NJ.

The fit is perfect, it's very warm and it keeps the wind at bay. The only issue I have with the coat is that the hanging loop inside the coat is made of metal, which although it is very sturdy, it is cold on your skin unless you are wearing a turtle neck type sweater or jersey underneath.

This coat is amazing! Everything I could ever want! Casual enough for every day but the quality and elegance is undeniable. So soft and warm. I never want to take it off!!
