Overland FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions

Is it safe to use my credit card online?
When you send personal information, such as your credit card number, over the Internet it is not readable to anyone but us. We encrypt your information using the 'web standard' SSL (secure socket layer) technology. We use 128 bit encryption for 'super-secure' transmission. Many sites only use 40 bit encryption which has been shown to be relatively easy to break. Your browser will be in "secure mode" as you proceed to the online order form. When your browser is in secure mode, you will notice the padlock icon on your browser window is in the locked position. This indicates that all information exchanged between you and our server is scrambled. This encryption/decryption process takes a little extra time, so you might notice some slowdown in your browser's response times.

How do I place an order?
Select the color, size and quantity of the item you wish to purchase.  Press the "Add to Cart" button.  The contents of your shopping cart will then be displayed.  Next you can modify your shopping cart, continue shopping or proceed to checkout.  When you checkout you will be prompted to fill in your billing and shipping information and choose your shipping preferences.  Your order is successfully completed when the "thank you for your order" page is displayed with your order tracking number.

What happens after I place an order?
After you place your order, you will see a "Thank You" page that contains an order number.  This is confirmation that your order has been successfully placed.  Your order is then sent over a secure server to Overland.com and will be processed and shipped the same day (applies to all orders received before 2:00 p.m. Central Time). If we do not have the merchandise in stock, we will contact you.

What if I'm not shipping to my billing address?
If your order is shipping to an address other than the billing address on your credit card, we may contact you to list the alternate address with your credit card company. This helps prevent fraudulent use of your credit card. To list the alternate address with your credit card company, just call the 800 number on the back of your card and ask the agent to add the address to the notes on your account. Listing the address before you place an order helps us process your order more quickly.

Can I pay by check or money order?
Yes. Please send your check/money order to: Overland / 2096 Nutmeg Avenue / Fairfield, Iowa 52556.  Please include the style number, size, color and quantity of items you wish to purchase, along with your name, shipping address and phone number.

What is the status of my order?
Please call 1-800-683-7526 to check the status of your order.
